A thread lift is a minimally invasive cosmetic enhancement technique that lifts sagging skin on the face and neck. This treatment is done by injecting polydioxinone sutures into the skin. Threads are strategically positioned in the skin, gently, with a fine needle and left behind. These get absorbed in 3 to 4 months leaving behind newly synthesised collagen fibres which lift in the direction they had been placed. It provides modest and subtle changes rather than dramatic results, and also helps people who don’t want to make the face lift procedure visible on their face.
